Studio code prefixes map to the label that issued a release. SNOS and SONE
belong to S1 No.1 Style, IPZZ to IdeaPocket, MIDA to MOODYZ, ABF to
PRESTIGE, START to SOD Create, and MFYD to Tameike Goro. Most labels own
several prefixes — one currently receiving numbers, the rest retired but still
valid for their back catalogue.
This page is organised by label, because that is how prefixes are actually allocated. If you have a prefix and want to look it up alphabetically instead, use the A–M and N–Z lookup tables, which cover the same material in prefix order.
How do you read this table?
Each row is a prefix; each group is a label; Status says whether that prefix is still receiving new numbers.
- Current — new releases are still being numbered under this prefix
- Retired — the back catalogue is intact, but no new numbers are issued
- A blank status means we have not confirmed which, and we would rather say so
A retired prefix is not a dead code. SSNI-500 resolves exactly as well today
as it did on release. What retirement means is that a serial beyond the last
issued number will never exist, which is a common cause of a failed lookup — see
codes from studios that no longer release.
Which prefixes belong to the major single-performer labels?
These are the labels whose lines are built around individually contracted performers, and they rotate prefixes most visibly.

Attribution and status checked 2026-08-03 against each label's own release
listing and against FANZA product records. Several of these rotated recently:
SONE closed at 998 in November 2025 and S1's numbering continues under SNOS;
MIDV closed at 999 in December 2024 and MOODYZ continues under MIDA; CAWD
reached 999 in August 2026 with CAWB already running alongside it.
The pattern to notice: within a label, prefixes usually share letters with their
predecessor (SSNI → SSIS, IPX → IPZZ, ABW → ABF). That similarity is
deliberate branding and also a trap — a one-letter difference is a different
line, not a variant of the same release.
Which prefixes belong to the married-woman and mature labels?
This group is unusually stable, and several of these prefixes have run for a long time without rotation.

Checked 2026-08-03. URE and ROE are the two most often mis-filed: both are
Madonna, listed on Madonna's own catalogue and carrying Madonna as the maker in
FANZA's records, with ROE running as the label's MONROE line. Both were still
receiving numbers in mid-2026.
The JU- family is worth memorising as a group. Seven of the prefixes above
start with JU, split across two labels, which is the most common source of
mis-attribution in published prefix lists.

Checked 2026-08-03. HMN is Honnaka's: it sits on Honnaka's own catalogue and
picks up exactly where HND stopped — HND-999 and HMN-001 carry the same
release date in June 2021. SSPD is an Attackers prefix, but we could not
establish whether it is still receiving numbers, so its status stays blank.
Which prefixes belong to SOD?
SOD Create runs several parallel lines rather than one rotating line, so its prefixes coexist instead of succeeding one another.

Checked 2026-08-03 against SOD's own new-release listing and FANZA product
records. START is a straight succession rather than a parallel line: STARS
closed at 999 in February 2024 and START-001 shipped the following month under
the same SOD star label.
The SD cluster is large and internally differentiated by concept rather than
by era, which is why several SD prefixes are active simultaneously.
Where can you read more about an individual label?
Several of the labels above have their own write-up covering house style and line history rather than just the prefix list: S1 No.1 Style, IdeaPocket, MOODYZ, PRESTIGE, SOD Create, Madonna, Attackers, kawaii* and E-BODY.
Use those when you already know the label and want context. Use this page when you have a prefix and need to know whose it is.
Which prefixes are we deliberately not listing?
Prefixes we cannot attribute with confidence, and per-prefix release counts.
Two omissions are intentional:
Uncertain attributions. Published prefix lists circulate widely and copy each other, including their errors. Where we could not confirm which label owns a prefix, the row is absent or carries a visible verification marker rather than a plausible guess. A wrong attribution in a reference table propagates.
Release counts. You will sometimes see tables claiming "this label has released N titles". We will not publish that number, because we cannot measure it. Our index stores faces, not catalogue records — there is no maker field and no release date in it. What we could measure is how many titles carrying a given prefix appear on the sites we index, and that is a measure of aggregator coverage, not of studio output.
Boundary worth stating: our index spans 106 sites, but only around a dozen of them carry Japanese-style codes at all, and 2,246 of our 2,333 representative images come from a single source (our index, 2026-08 snapshot). Any per-prefix count derived from that would say more about one aggregator's catalogue than about any studio.
What should you do with a prefix that is not in this table?
Work out which numbering family it belongs to before assuming it is a studio prefix.
- Check the alphabetical lookups — A–M and N–Z include prefixes not grouped here
- Check the shape. Leading digits mean an amateur or planning series
(
259LUXU-1234); a date-shaped number means an uncensored subscription site;FC2-PPV-means an individual-seller platform - Check the serial length. Four or five digits under an unfamiliar prefix points to a long-running series rather than a studio line
- Check for a padded internal ID.

If the prefix survives all four checks and still resolves nowhere, it is likely either a very small label or a transcription error — the character-confusion table in JAV code not found covers the second case.
